Has your idea ever been copied?

If not, probably your idea was not strong enough!

Recently I was leading a group session for THE BALANCED LIFE MASTERMIND, and the question of "being copied" came up.

The question came from a professional with 17 years of experience. His name is Palash and he's a part of my long-term mentorship program.

Just to set the context: Palash's goal for 2020 is to be a highly valued consultant apart from his current profession. When he first came to me he had stage fear, he was struggling with productivity & confidence, and he was not able to balance in life.

But now?

He gives confident presentations, is a highly motivated & motivatING man is on his way to achieve financial freedom along with total time freedom in his life.

My team made a few quote wallpapers for him that he can utilize by sharing on social media and get more attention.

Palash had one question.

"Bishal, what if I post it on social media and people who follow me just COPY it? I mean, they can copy the quote and put their own name next to it. What if they copy?"

I smiled.

Why?

Because some people DO copy & steal. That's their nature and it's who they are.

You know Jay Shetty?

The guy on FB who gets so much views.

A lady recently revealed how 90% of the words Jay Shetty says in his videos are NOT his words by famous quotes that he recites WITHOUT giving any credit. It's a simple form of copying AND stealing.

If Jay Shetty could do it, some people (not all) will definitely do it. Especially in India, boss!

So what should Palash do?

Not post his thoughts?

Here's what I told him:

"You can't be afraid of being copied. Don't let fear stop you. If you have good content, people WILL copy you. And that's okay. They can copy your words, your ideas, even your body language. But they can't copy your BEING. Be unique. Just make sure your speed of creating is faster than their speed of copying. Keep creating great content and you're making great progress."

Palash felt relieved.

Now he's going out there and putting himself OUT there.

He's doing public speaking. Social media. Blog writing.

He's going to be an INDUSTRY INFLUENCER in coming years.

So can YOU.

Listen, my friend.

If you are a professional, some people WILL copy your ideas.

What's important is that YOU execute FAST.

It's India, dude.

Kuch log toh chor hi hain.

If people steal your words...

If people steal your ideas...

If people steal your customers...

If people steal your opportunities...

...don't get demotivated.
